Kinlo
Terms of Use
Effective October 23, 2026
Who can use Kinlo
You must be at least 16 years old, and old enough to agree to these terms where you live. Give accurate information when you sign up, keep your sign-in email secure, and use only one account. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
Community rules: zero tolerance for abuse
Kinlo is for your people. There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. You agree not to use Kinlo to:
- harass, bully, threaten, stalk, or intimidate anyone;
- send hateful, violent, sexually explicit, or otherwise objectionable content;
- share anything that sexualizes or endangers minors (we report this to the authorities);
- impersonate others, or mislead people about who you are;
- spam, scam, or send unwanted bulk messages, requests, or invites;
- record or share other people's chirps or locations without their consent;
- break the law, or help anyone else do so;
- interfere with Kinlo or other people's use of it, including trying to get around blocks, suspensions, rate limits or security, or accessing Kinlo by automated means.
Reporting, blocking and enforcement
You can block anyone, and report a person, frequency or chirp, from inside the app. We review reports and aim to act within 24 hours. We may warn, suspend (for example for 24 hours or 7 days), or permanently ban accounts that break these terms. We may also remove content and, where appropriate, contact the authorities. You can ask about a decision by emailing support@bottortechnologies.com.
Your content
You own what you send (your chirps, photo, profile and Los). You give us a limited license to store, relay and display it only as needed to run Kinlo, for example delivering a chirp to the people you sent it to. That license ends when the content is deleted. Kinlo is designed so chirps and Los disappear once heard or seen, but you are responsible for what you send. Others could still capture it with another device.
Features that use your microphone, camera, location and notifications
Kinlo uses your microphone and camera only while you're sending a chirp. Your location is used only when you tap Drop the Lo. Lock-screen push-to-talk can play chirps from your friends aloud while your phone is locked; you can turn it off in Settings. Live delivery depends on your connection, and chirps can fail or arrive late. Don't rely on Kinlo for emergencies: call your local emergency number instead.
Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in Profile → Settings → Delete account. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, or if we need to for legal reasons. We may change or stop parts of Kinlo; we'll try to give notice of significant changes.
Disclaimers and limits of liability
Kinlo is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, Bottor Technologies Inc. isn't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for what other users say or do. Our total liability for any claim about Kinlo is limited to US$100 or the amount you paid us in the last 12 months, whichever is greater. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
Apple
If you got Kinlo from Apple's App Store, these terms are between you and Bottor Technologies Inc., not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for Kinlo or its support, and Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms. Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies, except where these terms are more specific.
Governing law, changes and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If we update these terms, we'll change the date above, and for significant changes let you know in the app. Continuing to use Kinlo means you accept the updated terms. Questions? Email support@bottortechnologies.com.
